Mohammed Akhter, MD, has joined our staff and is offering cardiovascular services for patients at Sovah Heart & Vascular – Danville.

Dr. Akhter received his medical degree from King Edward Medical School at the University of Punjab in Lahore, Pakistan, and completed his internal medicine residency at the Keck School of Medicine in Los Angeles, California. He completed his Heart Failure Research and Cardiovascular Medicine Fellowship at the University of Southern California, Interventional Cardiology Fellowship at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, and Peripheral Vascular Fellowship at Tufts University School of Medicine. He is board-certified by the American Board of Vascular Medicine in Vascular Medicine and Endovascular, and by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Interventional Cardiology and Cardiovascular Disease. He is a member of the American College of Cardiology, American Heart Association, and the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions.
As an interventional cardiologist, Dr. Akhter specializes in diagnostic testing, general cardiology, arrhythmias, heart failure, coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, peripheral artery disease, peripheral veinous disease, and percutaneous coronary interventions.
